about

...genesis of this song came in a dream...I heard a slightly distorted rock guitar figure against quarter note kick drum as a kind of hybrid between dance music and rock...the lyrics are inspired by the neo-Advaita Vedanta school of philosophy (exemplified by Jan Kirschott, Toni Parsons, Wayne Liquorman, somewhat Alan Watts) where it is accepted that nothing exists outside of the experience of this moment and that THIS is all there is and all there needs to be.and it is all ONE entity..as writing progressed it took on more of a romantic flavor so you have a guy becoming enlightened and falling love at the same time...risky adventure!

lyrics

THIS IS IT
This is it…this is always it…right now…every day…yea
This is it…this is always it…right now…every day…yea
What it is is what it is and what it is is this
This is it…right now in the moment with you
Right here every moment is new
No time and there’s nowhere to go
Nothin’ to do and nobody home
Sunshine on a rainy day…moonlight there pavin’ the way
No time and there’s nowhere to go
Nothin’ to do--nobody home
This is it…now and here and here and now
Let’s take it higher…This is it right away
This is it…now and here and here and now
Forever on…time will fade away
Forever on…and time has come today…this is it!
What it is is what it is and what it is is this
All this in the blink of an eye
All this so incredibly high
Daytime nighttime feel I could fly
Don’t bring me down don’t ask me why
Don’t care about the time of day
Couldn’t care less if the skies are gray
Gotta be this…where I want to be
Totally gone—incredibly free
[Chorus]
