about

...a tragic romance heavily influenced by lunar emanation but nonetheless subject to the whimsy of fate...

lyrics

"Moonlight"
Johnny fell in love one night when the moon was rising up
And shining like a halo up above
It was the perfect night for love
The last thing he was really think of
Kathy was a high school queen and so mature for 17
But something missing deep down in her soul
Waiting for someone to take control
Waiting for someone to play that role
Something in his voice when he said, “Hello”
Something in her eyes when she replied
“Yes I think I’d love a glass of Chardonnay”
I think it was the moonlight in their eyes

[CHORUS]
And it was moonlight shining through the evergreens
and filling up the emptiness inside
Feeling like a feeling that they never felt before
Lighting up the darkness in their lives
And it was moonlight streaming like a river
Through the starry atmosphere of April skies
And I don’t think it was that glass of Chardonnay
I think it was the moonlight in their eyes

Johnny was no Romeo--- the strong and silent type you know
He could not do what ladies’ men can do
To talk that kind of talk he had no clue
Married once or twice-- he muddled through
Kathy was a Southern girl she grew up in another world
And still believed that dreams do come true
But what kind of dreams? -- she had no clue
She was open for suggestions--maybe somethin’ new?
Some say it was destiny on that romantic night
Some say it was random chance alone
Me I think it was the pull of gravity
Objects at a distance coming home
[CHORUS]
Some say that chunk of Earth was thrown into the sky
Illuminated by the sun for lovers passin' by
Rising up so high--where satellites go by
Johnny left one rainy day to fight some war or so they say
In some ol’ god-forsaken foreign land
To fight a war he did not understand
One day he lay there dying the sand
Kathy stayed at home you know and turned all her attention
To the wounded coming home from the war
The broken men all from that foreign shore
Except the one that she was looking for
Sometimes late at night when the moon is full
She walks down by the sea and cries a cry
Some say that she thinks about the life they never knew
I think it’s just the moonlight in her eyes
[CHORUS]
