The last thing he was really think of
Kathy was a high school queen and so mature for 17
But something missing deep down in her soul
Waiting for someone to take control
Waiting for someone to play that role
Something in his voice when he said, “Hello”
Something in her eyes when she replied
“Yes I think I’d love a glass of Chardonnay”
I think it was the moonlight in their eyes

Johnny was no Romeo--- the strong and silent type you know
He could not do what ladies’ men can do
To talk that kind of talk he had no clue
Married once or twice-- he muddled through
Kathy was a Southern girl she grew up in another world

But what kind of dreams? -- she had no clue
She was open for suggestions--maybe somethin’ new?
