about

I began writing a suite of songs for a concept album about a "Tour of the Solar System" that never materialized...anyway, finished one called "Planet of Love" about Venus, one called "Life on Mars" and thought as a humorous interlude (comic relief) to be harassed by a ship of drunken aliens might be funny and interesting....that's where this song coms from...the theory here is superior transportation technology also breeds superior inebriational technology...that is to say, "Wouldn't superior beings have superior ways of changing their states of consciousness for fun and adventure?...this is a joy ride of drunken rogue aliens out for fun and plunder much like pirates of old...

lyrics

DRUNKEN ALIENS
It was a long time ago way up in the sky
It was a wobbly UFO DWI
It was a nasty little bunch it was a renegade crew
And they was hopped up and sloppy on alien brew
Racin’ with a comet—tearin’ up the sky
Lookin’ for some trouble with their beady little eyes
Drunken Aliens! Drunken Aliens!
Drunken Aliens! Drunken Aliens!
Well they was zoomin’ round the sun they was circlin’ the moon
Yea they was weavin’ back and forth in a heavenly swoon
Well they was beamin’ up our women they was makin’ ‘em numb
And they was takin’ DNA back to where they came from
[Chorus]
I guess they got what they wanted ‘cause they headed away
I guess they got satiated-- well what more can I say?
I guess they’re clonin’ all our women then they’re havin’ their way
I bet their comin’ back for more some terrible day
[Chorus]
